Gold Rush Home Study Charter School is dedicated to always striving for excellence and improvement. The school offers a Personalized Learning educational approach where an Individualized Learning Plan is created for each student so that every student can achieve academic excellence.
Personalized Learning is ideal for promoting maximum personal growth and respect for each individual's special gifts and skills. We believe that the student, parent, teacher, and school, together, become an individualized learning team. The team concept is appropriate because each member of the team has a special responsibility.
1. The student must put in the time and make the effort to learn. A student that is unwilling to take personal responsibility for learning may not be suited for our Personalized Learning program.
2. The parent establishes the schedule, creates the learning environment, helps maintain the learning records and assists the student with the materials. The role of the parent at home is vital to the success of the student's Personalized Learning program.
3. The school's instructor is the final member of the team. The teacher is credentialed by the State of California and will use his or her professional expertise to select appropriate curriculum, evaluate the progress of the student and recommend learning strategies and tutoring when appropriate.4
Gold Rush works with parents and students to establish educational goals for the academic year. In our Personalized Learning program, the goals of each student shall reflect the student's special talents, interests and needs, as well as the state mandated standards for each grade. We believe that learning happens all the time and is not limited to a classroom. Our goal is to make learning a life-long adventure! |
