About Motivated Youth (MY) Academy

Motivated Youth Academy (MYA) is a tuition-free, flex-based California public charter school, supporting students through independent study since 2014. MYA combines the flexibility of online learning with personalized, face-to-face instruction. Through its “No Walls Approach,” teachers meet students weekly at community locations, providing tailored guidance. Serving grades TK-12 and young adults ages 18-24, MYA offers WASC-accredited, UC/CSU a-g, and NCAA-approved courses with pathways for At-Promise, College and Career, and Credit Recovery students. Every student has a customized learning plan (“MY PLAN”), built around their interests and goals.

MYA’s Enriched Virtual model provides students with flexible learning while offering one-on-one support from credentialed teachers. This approach enables students to thrive both academically and personally, whether at home, on the road, or in their communities. MYA focuses on serving At-Promise youth and young adults, many of whom have faced barriers in traditional education systems. The school continues to provide an adaptable learning environment that fosters growth and success in an ever-changing world.
