Overview
Quality Science Labs offers innovative science kits for distance education, independent study, and classrooms. Written by seasoned instructors with over 235 years combined experience, the kits offer a cost effective and virtually fail-safe method to include real hands-on science labs, regardless of the classroom setting.
Quality Science Labs was founded 14 years ago with the innovative, MicroChem lab kits, written by Dr. Frank Eshelman to support home school students doing chemistry labs at their kitchen tables. The lab kits are student-friendly with high safety standards (0.1 Molar concentrations for chemicals) allowing them to ship easily and require minimum supervision at home. Since then, several lab kits have been developed for most grade levels and students in personalized learning programs: online, blended online, independent, as well as small charter school classes and large public school classes.
Education Philosophy
Our education philosophy is based in constructivism. Although each student has their own learning style, distance learning and neuroscience research is showing 21st century student preferences are in the reality world for science labs. Our current strategies are offering exploration, guided instruction through step-by-step lab procedures, and finally choices of inquiry or technology activities for students to pursue out of their own curiosity. Our goal in student learning is to develop critical thinking and offer project ideas with the community and the environment.

Custom lab kits are also available. For example, we make custom “Inventions” and “Forensics” lab kits for John’s Hopkins University online Center for Talented Youth program.
Our Customers
We are proud to produce lab kits for universities that use our Physics, AP Chemistry, and AP Biology kits for accelerated high school students such as John’s Hopkins; and university students at Northwestern University and Stanford University. Other large K-12 organizations practicing personalized learning, representing over 600,000 students, and using our lab kits include: APEX Learning Systems, K-12 Inc., Visions in Education Charter Schools, and River Springs Charter Schools. Internationally, Kenya, Africa has 350 schools using our lab kits.
