TCS offers a hybrid program of project-based learning in a classroom environment combined with a customized, self-paced, home-study setting to create a truly personalized education for each student. Parents/guardians and California credentialed teachers collaborate to develop and deliver an educational program based on each student’s unique and changing needs. Trivium Charter follows a four year Classical Education model using history and science as the central theme for the classroom days. Through their home-study courses, students are able to proceed at their own appropriate pace and level in math, language arts and elective coursework. Students may receive instruction for their home-study courses through online programs, DVD series, traditional textbook methods or a customized approach blending various elements. Students that take part in the hybrid program attend the campus twice a week (ACE days) and engage in home-study courses or our online Trivium Connect program three days a week. All components of the learning program are outlined for each student in their Personalized Learning Plan. Students and their families work with members of the Trivium curriculum team to choose, direct, and implement appropriate personalized curriculum for each student.Trivium Connect provides synchronous (live) online classes in comprehensive math, language arts, and music on students’ home study days so students can interact with the teacher and other students in a collaborative environment.
